Reading Programs for Classrooms

Learning to read is the acquisition and practice of the skills necessary to understand the meaning behind printed words. Learning to read is one of the most important skills children can learn. For a fairly good reader, the skill of reading often feels simple, effortless, and automatic, however, the process of learning to read is complex and builds on cognitive, linguistic, and social skills developed from a very early age. The experienced Edumentor staff can help you find the right reading program for your school.

Program Development and Evaluation

To innovate in education is to create something new which deviates from long established traditional practices. Guidance can be provided to school leaders and administrators on ways to implement professional student programs in order to enhance learning opportunities.

The changing pattern in education demands that care is taken that the younger generation of students do not spend their time on internet education for hours. Reading books must be made compulsory at all levels of learning. The computer should serve as a supplementary tool or a device.

Teacher In-Service

Learning is a life long endeavor. Education changes as the world changes, as students’ needs change and especially as the technological world grows. Teachers must grow with these changes or we are “left behind” and our children aren’t being taught in the best ways, with the most recent information, and in a way relevant to the modern student.
Research is constantly being done to keep up with trends in education, the changing needs of students, and ways to best present the new world of knowledge to students. In-Service often gives us time to work together to bring this knowledge to students.

Sister School Agreements

Sister school relationships are a “positive association between two schools”¹.

Relationships can be shaped based on what the participating schools want, but typically involve giving students and teachers the chance to make connections with their counterparts through exchanges, visits, emails and video conferencing.

The ongoing nature of sister school relationships means staff and students can develop strong friendships and links. Through these connections, participants can improve their knowledge and understanding of Asian cultures.

Sister school relationships take time to develop, and are a long-term commitment. Before you get started, you need to ensure that you have the time and resources to build up these relationships.
